Know the Effects of ‘Microclimate’ and How to Protect Your Home and Family

Renewal by Andersen of San Francisco

Although it does not or rarely does it snow in San Francisco, it does not mean that you should be complacent in your home’s maintenance. The city is known to have extremely varied microclimates (a local atmospheric zone where the climate differs from the surrounding areas), which is why you should ensure that your home is ready for any kind of weather condition. One way to make sure is by consulting with a San Francisco window contractor.

Unlike other cities in the US with extreme weather, San Francisco only has moderate temperatures. People say that the best time to visit the city is during fall since it becomes warm. But just like other coastal areas in the US, this city is prone to unusual weather conditions. CBS Local reported a recent case of microclimate in the city:

More rain is on its way to the Bay Area as early as Monday, and weather forecasters said to expect cold temperatures, hail, and the possibility of snow on the region’s peaks.

The late-season storm is expected to arrive in the North Bay on Monday morning, spreading to San Francisco and the Peninsula throughout the afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service.

Continued showers and a chance of hail and thunderstorms are forecast for the entire Bay Area until Wednesday morning, the weather service said.

How sure are you that your home is protected from the weather conditions in San Francisco? You need to determine whether your home needs repair. Check if your roof has holes, the hinges of your doors are still intact, and see to it that the windows have no cracks or the frame has not corroded. If you do not have enough time to check your home for maintenance, you can always get help from window contractors in San Francisco.
